Capabilities · Global Verification Network

A hardened facility still depends on who gets in.

Walls protect the site. Access controls protect the systems. Global Verification Network gives you the verified facts behind the decision to trust a person or a company with either one.

The question behind the wall

You can harden a building and still hand someone the key.

A protected facility is operated, maintained and supplied by people. Employees, contractors and vendors need access to sensitive spaces, systems and information, and each of those relationships is a decision somebody makes.

GVN provides background screening, credential verification and investigative due diligence so that decision rests on verified information rather than an assumption.

Screening does not predict conduct and does not guarantee safety. It gives your organization a stronger factual basis for the controls you already run.

A decision path

From a name on a request to an informed access decision.

GVN's work sits before the badge, the maintenance visit, the supplier agreement or the system account.

  1. 01

    Identify the relationship

Name the role and the exposure. An employee, a contractor, an executive, a vendor principal or a partner company seeking access or responsibility.

  2. 02

    Establish the facts

GVN scopes checks to the decision: background information, claimed qualifications, employment history, and due diligence on the entities behind a relationship.

  3. 03

    Apply your policy

You review the findings, follow applicable law and your own standards, and decide what role or access, if any, is appropriate.

The principle. A report is one input to a controlled decision. It does not itself grant access, replace supervision, or stand in for the physical and technical controls around it.

The GVN capability

Screening scoped to the decision, not to a fixed checklist.

GVN is a consumer reporting agency. Checks are combined to match the position or the relationship being evaluated, and not every check is appropriate or available for every role or jurisdiction.

Security-sensitive settings

The same question, in very different facilities.

Illustrative planning examples. They are not descriptions of existing GVN engagements, and not every check is available for every role or jurisdiction.

  • 01 / Data & communicationsData centers

Staff and service contractors enter equipment areas or hold administrative responsibility. Screening and credential verification inform permissions, escort rules and continuing review.

  • 02 / Essential operationsUtilities & telecom

Field teams and outside vendors support substations, communications sites and operations centers. Personnel screening pairs with due diligence on the firms behind them.

  • 03 / Public missionGovernment & public safety

Agencies evaluate employees, contractors and supporting organizations. Any separate suitability, clearance or credentialing process required by the role remains its own process.

Physical, technical, human

Digital security has a human access path.

Your security team manages accounts, devices, segmentation and monitoring. Your facility team manages barriers, gates and protected rooms. Both rest on decisions about which people and which companies are permitted to work with those assets.

GVN informs those decisions, particularly where a role touches sensitive systems, protected information or critical operations. It complements technical and physical controls. It does not test networks and does not replace them.

  • Privileged staff. Personnel who administer or support sensitive systems.
  • On-site contractors. Installers, maintenance teams and specialist technicians entering restricted areas.
  • Third-party firms. Suppliers and partners entrusted with critical work or information.

Working with GVN

How the work gets scoped.

  1. 01

    Describe the role

Who is being evaluated, and what facility, system, data or business relationship is involved.

  2. 02

    Set the scope

GVN identifies the relevant and permissible checks for the decision in front of you.

  3. 03

    Review findings

GVN reports verified information and investigative findings under the agreed process.

  4. 04

    Decide and manage

You make the decision and run your own access, supervision and review controls.

Why this sits alongside Amidon
