ArmorBlock is a proprietary structural defense system that combines the everyday usability of a CMU (concrete masonry unit) with the advanced threat resistance of Amidon’s Shield material. Designed to match the size, shape, and handling of traditional concrete blocks, ArmorBlock weighs approximately 40 pounds and can be installed by any mason using standard tools and techniques.
What makes ArmorBlock exceptional is its interior: once the block’s hollow cores are filled with the Shield material, it becomes a dense, solid-core defense unit capable of withstanding extreme ballistic and blast events. In independent testing, an eight-inch reinforced ArmorBlock wall filled with Shield stopped a .50 caliber M33 round at 3 inches of penetration, the UL 752 Level 10 threat, with no damage to the back face.
