Who we are
Amidon builds the structural side of protective construction. We manufacture ballistic concrete and armored wall systems in Wendell, North Carolina, and we design, produce and install the live-fire training environments those materials go into.
We are a manufacturer first, so the material, the wall assembly, the repair method and the field support come from one accountable source rather than a chain of suppliers.
The company runs two lines of business under one certification and one CAGE code. Protective construction and ballistic materials serve federal, state and commercial facilities. Amidon Training Solutions serves military, law enforcement and government training programs.

Line 1 · Protective construction and ballistic materials
Engineered cementitious and composite systems for facilities that have to absorb ballistic, blast or forced-entry threats, supplied as material, as fabricated assemblies, or as a designed and installed package.
Products. Amidon Shield, Amidon ArmorBlock, Amidon eShield, Amidon vShield, ballistic fiberglass, bullet-resistant panels, forced-entry and ballistic louvers, ballistic guard booths, vehicle barriers and crash-rated bollards.
Services. Design and engineering, custom fabrication, bespoke mix design, installation, maintenance and support, materials research (Amidon Labs).
Delivered with partners. Security and vulnerability assessments; background investigations.
Line 2 · Amidon Training Solutions
Live-fire and simulated training environments, from a single breaching wall to a multistory shoot house complex or a subterranean conversion, plus a supply channel for the range and training equipment that goes inside them.
Built environments. Live-fire shoot houses, multistory and modular complexes, subterranean training complexes and conversions, indoor small arms ranges, EOD pits, breaching walls, Amidon Gauntlet.
Product and support. Ballistic concrete mix, ballistic repair kits, mini and coping blocks, sling load training blocks, ballistic rubber, 3D modeling and simulation, shoot house leasing, range and training equipment supply.

- Amidon Shield block
- An eight-inch Amidon Shield block defeated the UL 752 Level 10 threat, .50 caliber 710-grain M2 Ball at 2,967 ft/s, with no penetration. One shot, zero degrees obliquity. NTS-Chesapeake Testing, November 2019.
- Amidon ArmorBlock wall
- An eight-inch ArmorBlock wall filled with 4,500 psi Amidon Shield and #4 rebar at 16 inches on center stopped a .50 caliber M33 round at 3 inches of penetration, with no spalling, cracking or deformation on the back face. Panel water-saturated, 53 °F, 98 ft standoff, near zero obliquity. BLUEline Contracting, February 2025, to the protocol established by the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center.
Amidon cites UL 752, NIJ-STD-0108.01, ASTM F2656, ASTM E119 and NFPA 855 for threat definition and test protocol, and does not claim certification or listing under any of them. Each result belongs to the named assembly tested under the stated conditions. Full test data.
