Amidon eShield
A building system that pairs Amidon’s protective concrete with electromagnetic shielding layers, for spaces that need physical protection and control of electromagnetic exposure in the same wall.
One wall, two jobs
Sensitive facilities usually solve physical protection and electromagnetic shielding separately, with separate trades and separate schedules. Amidon eShield brings them into one assembly: a protective concrete wall built on the Amidon high-performance shock absorbing concrete platform, with shielding materials integrated into the build-up.
- Physical layer. Protective concrete for ballistic, blast and forced-entry threats, specified to the project.
- Electromagnetic layer. Shielding materials selected with HEMP facility-hardening (MIL-STD-188-125) and TEMPEST low-emanation requirements in view.
- Coordinated detailing. Penetrations, doors and seams designed as part of the same assembly, because that is where shielding and protection are usually lost.

Where it fits
- SCIFs and secure rooms. Protected spaces where emanations and physical access both matter.
- Data centers and communications rooms. Critical electronics behind a protective envelope.
- Retrofit or new construction. Partial coverage of a single room or full coverage of a facility, installed by trained tradespeople.

How performance is established
Shielding effectiveness depends on the whole installed enclosure, not on a material alone. eShield is designed toward the project’s stated requirement, and shielding performance is verified by testing of the installed assembly against that requirement. Amidon does not claim a MIL-STD-188-125 or TEMPEST certification for eShield as a product.
Physical protection is specified the same way as Amidon Shield: against a named threat, with published test data for the tested assembly. See the test data.
