A large share of Amidon’s work has nothing to do with a hostile threat. Industrial facilities need mass, vibration damping, fire resistance and resistance to impact and wear — requirements that come from the process inside the building, not from outside it.
These projects are often larger in volume than security work, and they are frequently specified by engineers who would never think to look at a ballistic material. That is the point of separating them.
